Eligibility Requirements for After-School Activities

  • Students are required to maintain a passing grade in all subjects for the duration of the activity.

  • Students should immediately make a plan with their teacher, coach, parents, and the Athletic Director (Sports) or a Guidance Counselor (All other after-school activities) to bring up failing grades and preserve eligibility.

  • Students who are failing a class will have one week to bring up their grades. If the student is still failing any of their classes (Doesn’t have to be the same class) after one week, they will be able to practice but not compete in any competitions for an additional week. If after this additional week the student is still failing a class, they will no longer be permitted to practice or attend any team/activity competitions or functions until they are passing all subjects again.

  • Students are expected to display good sportsmanship and exemplary behavior on and off the field and in the classroom. Failure to do so could also result in loss of eligibility.

Auburn Middle School Athletics COVID-19 Protocols


  • Hand sanitizer will be available before, during, and after each session

  • No sharing of clothing (Scrimmage Vests, Jackets, etc.)

  • Each student must have their own water bottle

  • Student athletes are encouraged to shower at home after each training session

  • Spitting is NOT allowed under any circumstances


  • All coaches will be provided with disinfecting supplies in addition to medical kits that will be on site at each workout

  • Equipment will be cleaned and wiped down after each session based on CDC guidelines


Auburn Middle School will be following MPA Return to Participation guidelines during our outdoor Athletics activities. We will be following DOE Physical Education guidelines and/or MPA guidelines for indoor activities.


  • Screening should be performed prior to arrival by using the COVID-19 Pre-Screening Tool used for School Attendance

  • Record of attendance will be kept on file by the coach(es)


  • There will be NO CONGREGATING before or after a session. Student athletes should show up at their designated time and then leave campus at the conclusion of their activity

  • All activities must occur after school

  • Students will need to have a current (Within 2 years) Physical on file with the AD.

  • The school and district is only responsible for the student-athletes during the assigned practice and game/meet/race times as well as during any corresponding school-sponsored transportation. Use of any facilities before or after activities or races is done so at a student-athlete's own risk.
