2010-2011 Budget Proposal - No Tax Increase

  On March 24th the School Committee voted unanimously to approve the recommended $34,167,477school budget for FY11. The approved budget is $30,060 less than FY10 and requires no new taxes for local schools. It also continues years of key structural adjustments and delayering of personnel to meet expectations for financial and programmatic sustainability. The FY11 budget includes the elimination of three administrative positions and three secondary teaching positions.


  The budget now goes on to the Auburn City Council for review on March 29th and April 8th. Final approval for the FY11 School Budget by the Council is scheduled for May 3rd. The community will vote on the FY11 school budget on May 11th.

The Auburn School Budget Passed by a vote of 246 - 43!

The Auburn school budget passed by a vote of 246-43.  The total voter turn-out in Auburn was 289 (1.8% of registered voters). Voters said they wanted to continue the referendum process for another three years.
